Insights & Musings: A Note For My US Collectors: No Tariffs On Your Prints
If you've been following the news, you know that tariffs and cross-border shipping have become a real headache for a lot of online sellers this year. I want to put your mind at ease: if you're purchasing artwork from me and having it shipped to a US address, there are no tariffs to worry about.
Here's why
While I'm based in Toronto, Canada, all prints destined for US collectors are produced by a professional photo lab located in the United States. Your order is printed, finished, and shipped entirely within the US — it never crosses an international border.
Tariffs only apply to goods that cross into a country from abroad. Since your print is made and shipped domestically, from one US location to another, there's no import event, and therefore no duty or tariff applied to your purchase.
What this Means for You.
- The price you see is the price you pay - no surprise customs fees or duties tacked on at delivery
- Faster, simpler shipping, since your artwork isn't clearing international customs
- The same archival-quality materials and printing standards I use for all of my limited edition work, gallery pieces included.
